We have previously worked with several companies involved in the Australian cash logistics and currency management market. The companies provided cash forecasting and delivery for ATMs and other services for various businesses. A core part of these services for one of them was planning for their Armoured vehicle routing and delivery networks.
They’re … data consultants undertook a 12 month process improvement and software implementation project to change the way they managed their daily vehicle routing task. This involved gathering a detailed understanding of existing procedures and the interactions between various business units and IT systems and then the phasing in of a suitable solution to allow continuity of service while the process was altered.
Route Planning software was integrated into their business to ensure they had the capability of providing flexible planning of their daily and weekly delivery tasks.
Successful implementation has ensured KPIs such as overtime, total driver hours and logistics costs have reduced dramatically since commencing the project.Examples on the left show some generic IT and Route solutions that may be implemented in any company performing Route operations, including Cash Logistics or others.
